6/2/2007 Charlie Daniels Band "Volunteer Jam" with Marshall Tucker Band & Outlaws, Dodge Theatre, Phoenix, AZ

June 2, 2007 - Phoenix, AZ

The Charlie Daniels Band headlined a traveling "Volunteer Jam" show at Dodge Theatre.
Charlie had hosted an annual one-off "Volunteer Jam" at an arena since the mid 1970s. He would invite Southern Rock brothers as well as rock and soul artists for a show that highlighted each act individually, but brought them together for extended jams.
In 2007, Charlie took the Volunteer Jam on the road, recruiting long-time jam mates Marshall Tucker Band and Outlaws, to multiple cities on a nationwide tour. While these bands were all well past their prime, I still enjoyed their music. CDB was clearly the tightest band on the bill. The show-closing jam on MTB's "24 Hours At A Time" was the highlight and still one of my all-time favorite songs.
