Performing a dance-driven concert, Madonna brought her Confessions Tour to Glendale Arena.
The Material Girl had just released her "Confessions On A Dance Floor" LP, winner of a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance album. More than half the songs in this concert came from this new record.
Erotic video, religious imagery and a large troupe of athletic dancers made regular appearances throughout the show, loosely based on a night in a disco with a DJ.
We saw her Drowned World tour in Las Vegas in 2001. That show was similar to this one in that it was all about the new record. In both concerts, the setlists focused heavily on the current album, leaving little time for her radio-friendly hits. While I liked the flash and energy of the Confessions Tour, I still expected to hear songs like "Holiday" and "Like A Virgin" but she elected not to sing those.
