In Game 3 of the First Round of the NBA Western Conference Playoffs, the Phoenix Suns downed the Utah Jazz 120 - 105 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Suns guard Kevin Johnson led the Suns with a double-double of 29 points and 12 assists. Jazz future Hall of Famers Karl Malone and John Stockton also posted double-doubles; Malone with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Stockton with 22 points and 19 assists.
Along with KJ, five other Suns scored in double figures; Jeff Hornacek, Tom Chambers, Mark West who started and Dan Majerle and Eddie Johnson coming off the bench.
The Suns won the series 3 games to 2. They went on to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the semifinals, but ultimately lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the conference finals.
