March 28, 1980 - Carbondale, IL

Tucson native Linda Ronstadt brought her "Mad Love" tour to the SIU Arena.
Linda made her mark with country rock and employed the Eagles members as her backing band. She was the top female singer of the 1970s and appeared on the covers of Time, Newsweek and 6X on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
This show was her entry into rock & roll with New Wave influences on her "Mad Love" album. Elvis Costello contributed several songs on this LP. The top hits were "How Do I Make You" and "Hurt So Good." She had a short punky haircut and was a long way from her folky roots, but still sounding great and still easy on the eyes.
Linda later recorded albums of jazz standards, Mexicali music and orchestral arrangements, a tribute to her versatility. Sadly, she no longer sings or performs due to health issues.
