March 19, 2019 - Phoenix, AZ

Jamey Johnson played an outlaw country concert for a SRO crowd at The Van Buren.

Johnson first garnered attention writing hit songs for other artists like "Give It Away" for George Strait and "Ladies Love Country Boys" and "I Got My Game On" for Trace Atkins.  He has gained critical acclaim for his own couple of albums and his biggest hit "In Color" was Song of the Year for both ACM and CMA.

Johnson other big songs "High Cost of Living," "Mowin' Down the Roses" and "The Dollar" were included in an eclectic setlist heavy on old country covers.  The show ended with John Prine's "Paradise," "East Bound & Down" from Jerry Reed and Don Williams' "Tulsa Time."

We really enjoyed this show and had fun hosting some vacationing family members at this sold out downtown venue.  The Van Buren, the newer but bigger brother to Crescent Ballroom, has been a wonderful addition to the Phoenix music scene.  Great beer list too.
