3/1/2006 Buddy Guy, Ikeda Theatre, Mesa Arts Center, Mesa, AZ

March 1, 2006 - Mesa, AZ

"Damn Right, We Got the Blues" when Buddy Guy brought the sounds of Chicago's south side to the Ikeda Theatre at Mesa Arts Center.

Named the #23 guitarist in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Buddy was a showman this night, strutting the stage in his signature polka dot suit.  He was 69-years-young in 2006, and was celebrating his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame the year prior, with Eric Clapton and B.B. King doing the honors.

I've been to Buddy Guy's "Legends" nightclub on Chicago's south side a couple of times, but have never seen the proprietor perform there.  He regularly plays his own club annually in January/February, and I hope to catch him there some day.
