25 years ago... January 2, 1996 - Tempe, AZ The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl hosted the National Championship game in a battle of unbeatens as Nebraska rolled Florida 62-24.  The score was the highest ever and the biggest margin of victory in a National Championship game to date.  This was the first NCAA football national championship under the newly-formed Bowl Alliance.  

  30 years ago... January 1, 1991 - PASADENA, CA After spending New Year's Eve on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, we made our one and only trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Washington beat Iowa 46-34 in the highest scoring Rose Bowl to that point, a record that stood for the next 20 years.  Huskies QB Mark Brunnell was the MVP.
